Welcome to Legacy Book. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Legacy Book website, services, and products (collectively, the "Service"). By purchasing, accessing, or using Legacy Book, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Overview of the Service

Legacy Book is a storytelling platform that uses AI-guided interviews to help users capture personal stories, memories, lessons, and traditions. The content shared through these interviews is transformed into professionally written chapters and compiled into a physical hardcover book upon user approval and submission for print.

Legacy Book does not create fictional content or alter the facts of a user's story. All chapters are based entirely on the information provided and approved by the user.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Service. By using Legacy Book, you represent and warrant that you have the legal authority to enter into this agreement.

3. User Content & Ownership

3.1 Your Content

You retain full ownership of the stories, memories, photos, and other content you provide ("User Content").

3.2 License to Legacy Book

By using the Service, you grant Legacy Book a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process, edit, format, store, and reproduce your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service, including book creation and printing.

Legacy Book does not sell, publish, or claim ownership of your stories.

4. AI Interviews & Chapter Creation

Legacy Book uses AI technology to:

  • Guide users through structured interview topics
  • Capture and organize responses
  • Professionally write chapters based on user-provided information

While the writing is professionally polished, Legacy Book does not add, invent, or change facts. All narrative details remain faithful to the information provided by the user.

5. User Review & Approval Responsibility

You are solely responsible for reviewing and approving:

  • Each topic response
  • Each written chapter
  • The compiled final book

Legacy Book provides tools that allow you to review, edit, and request revisions prior to printing. It is your responsibility to ensure all content is accurate and complete before submission.

6. Print Submission as Binding Approval

When you submit your book for printing, you:

  • Confirm that you have reviewed the entire book
  • Confirm that all content is accurate and approved
  • Acknowledge that submission for print constitutes final, binding approval

Once submitted for printing, no changes, refunds, or cancellations are permitted.

7. Refund Policy & 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

Legacy Book offers a 30-day money-back guarantee subject to the conditions below.

7.1 Refund Eligibility

A refund may be requested within 30 days of purchase only if:

  • The book has not been completed, and
  • The book has not been submitted for printing

7.2 Refund Ineligibility

Refunds are not available if:

  • Any portion of the book has been submitted for print
  • The completed book has entered the printing process
  • The hardcover book has been produced or shipped

Printing is a custom, irreversible process. Submission for print constitutes acceptance of the final product.

8. Physical Book Production & Shipping

Printed books are produced through third-party print-on-demand partners. Legacy Book is not responsible for:

  • Minor color variations
  • Print alignment tolerances
  • Shipping delays outside of our control

Books damaged in transit or containing manufacturing defects may be eligible for replacement at Legacy Book's discretion.

9. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent authorship
  • Upload content you do not have the legal right to use

Legacy Book reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Termination

Legacy Book may suspend or terminate access to the Service if these Terms are violated. Termination does not affect obligations related to completed or printed books.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Legacy Book makes no warranties regarding uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or specific outcomes beyond what is described in these Terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Legacy Book shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the Service, including loss of data or emotional distress.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

14. Changes to Terms

Legacy Book may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
